BarCamp Bournemouth3 Last weekend I took another trip, this time down to the south coast for BarCamp Bournemouth3.Β I missed last year’s BarCamp because I was working at the BBC on the General Election, but with it being a couple of months earlier this year, it meant I was able to make it.Β Rather than talking about anything formal this time, I took Carcassonne along with me and taught a few people how to play as my “session”. I also learned the rules for Settles of Catan, another popular game much played by geeks, but it was the first time I’d tried it out.

As in previous years, the University were very accommodating, and with generous sponsorship from BCS Dorset, the event went pretty smoothly. I even got to watch theΒ England vs France Six Nations game live in the SU bar, so I was happy! [especially is England won]

It was a shame that the weather wasn’t as good as previous years, and my journey home was pretty horrific – I wasn’t the only geek stranded on the M3 on the way home πŸ™
